The Painter. [30 Dec 2010|03:39pm]

I looked up. It was one of those nights where I had nowhere to go so I just picked a star in the sky and followed the streets I thought would get me closest to it, ignoring the fact that none of the streets were on hills and I wasn't climbing any higher. It didn't matter though because I wanted to be closer to the star, not in possession of it. Doing that would make it nothing more than a flimsy night light bought at the corner store, adjacent to my flat.

So like I did most nights when I couldn't sleep, I just followed. I figured the less I look at the ground, the less aware I was that I was pinned to it, like a piece of fabric safety pinned to the quilt. I hopefully wasn't being sewn into the earth any time soon. Anyways, if I could just avoid looking at the ground and try to make sure nothing got in my sights but the sky, then maybe I could convince myself that that was where I was.

That night, in order to see the moon, I had to round the corner of a crumbled brick building with dusty dirty windows that distorted my reflection when I glanced at them. The moon wasn't realy my thing. I generally preferred the simple stars but that night it was different, much different. Nobody ever believes my stories. They say my nighttime walks are just dreams and maybe this one was but there was a woman sitting on it. She had short, chocolate brown hair that was flipped out. A thin, white, lace dress hung from her ivory shoulders. Her ankles were crossed and hung over one of the edges, balancing her as she leaned into the sky, painting silver and gold stars. She was articulate, and graceful, and, well as much as I hate to say it, perfect. She wasn't worried about who was watching her or the lengths of her strokes. It was like she was illustrating something that had already been created and she was just filling in the truth.

People always tell you this junk about how you're looking into the past when you look at stars and whatever, all that scientific bull. And, I generally am in favor of knowledge of whatever kind in order to support belief but there she was and I didn't need any other sort of explanation. It just was. She was there painting stars, and then, as if it was part of the plan, she began painting something else.

It was like a kid had tipped his crayon box over into the sky, a crayon box that had been left out in the sun so it was just melted wax. She spread the melted wax with her fingers in all different directions. Blue violet and indigo. Fuschia and Sea Green. Turquoise and orchid and a hundred other colors. Stars burst from clouds and their golden sparks rained down through the atmostphere until it turned into a mild rain shower that brushed my face before falling to the sordid bricks in the sidewalk. It was like watching the creation of something. I wasn't sure what it was but it felt mythological and real and magical and true all at the same time so that I wasn't sure what I was looking or why. I just knew that I was enjoying what I saw and I knew I somehow was a part of it.

And then she did something I didn't expect. She began to paint with crimson and firebrick and forest green, grey and black. And something in me grew fearful. I'm not sure why. But for some reason when she ran palms of paint acrossed the newly fierce clouds I began to wonder what I had to do at home and an invisible leash tugged me back to my stoop. I'd just stepped under the awning when the clouds she'd painted, those clouds that had been so beautiful and graceful, ripped themselves open and a crimson flood of sparks fell toward the earth.

I was inspired by an image on one of the photography websites I check out. I wasn't sure where I was going with this and it was purely freewritten so if it makes no sense I apologize. I just had to write what has been in my head all day.

SECRETS on Choosing Cat Urine Cleaning Products [11 Jul 2008|11:11am]
SECRETS on Choosing Cat Urine Cleaning Products
 by: Hayden Brown
This is a true cat urine cleaning products Guide for those who ask any of the following questions:
How to choose a cat urine remover?
How to select a cat urine remover?
How to find a cat urine remover?
With all this choice in an endless supply of cat urine cleaning products there is one problem and that is "CHOICE". How do you choose the right one? how do you select the best product for you and your pet? Well I am going to share with you this secret whether your question is how to choose a cat urine remover, how to find a cat urine remover or how to select a cat urine remover.
The truth is you can spend days even weeks looking at different cat urine cleaning products and compare features or value. But somewhere you have to draw the line, some time you will have to make a choice. That is the reason for this article, to save pet owners from wasting their time and money on something that they really are not sure on. I have already spent my time looking at different cat urine cleaning products that remove serious cat urine and I'm giving you this information as an easy to understand rating system.
To understand the system completely you will first need to have the 9 MOST IMPORTANT CRITERIA you ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY must know before purchasing any cat urine cleaning products. These following 9 criteria will allow you to make a quick sound judgment on any product, so you know instantly if it is a yes or a no! Without it you could be very disappointed with the product bought because of its lack of performance and with no way of refunding it, you would be wasting money.
So for the pet owners who want to find the best cat urine cleaning product to remove those serious cat urine stains just use these follow 9 criteras.
1. No fragrance to hide or disguise the odor since this will only fix the problem temporarily.
Masking the odor may work for the time being, but wait 2-3 hours and that smell will be back. It is important to be able to smell the urine stain with out fragrances to tell if it was effectively removed. If the smell persists then total removal was definitely ineffective even if no stain can be seen.
2. EASY to use SAVING you time, effort and MONEY!
Make sure the product is an easy one step process for its use! The last thing you need is to spend more time then necessary applying two or three treatments for total removal. I don't think the company really cares how long it takes you to clean up since they are not the ones cleaning up the mess. I want it to be as easy as possible! And so should YOU!
3. No claim to absorb or sponge the stain, since this will later require effort to clean any remaining remnants.
Any product that claims to absorb or sponge the stain usually (but not always) requires an applying step, then wait after X hours to do the second step, which is to vacuum or clean it up. To me this seems like double work and it would have to be cleaned thoroughly to remove all remnants of the cleaning agent.
4. Unmatched quality GUARANTEED by the manufacturer that will remove all components of the stain from color, texture, odor and the toughest component of ALL!.........Uric salt crystals!
A clearly stated GUARANTEE is important to you as the purchaser. This is your insurance and leverage as a customer. And it would not be smart to shop online without any form of insurance. Businesses today usually accept this form of risk to them and I would be suspicious of any business that did not CLEARLY state a GUARANTEE.
The toughest component of urine is the "Uric Salt Crystals". When looking for pet stain cleaner you should be looking to see what has it been tested on and what does it remove? Does it remove Uric Salt Crystals?
5. Must prevent your pet from repeated soiling in the same area.
The reason I was emphasizing about the Uric Salt Crystals is because it is these crystals that hold the marking scents of your pet. Remember how dog marks his territory by urinating around their area. Well it is these crystals that hold their scent in which they can find that same spot over and over again. If you can remover these Uric Salt Crystals then you can prevent this habit.
6. Must be NON-TOXIC for YOU, children, pets and guests.
I have a one and a half year old son at the time of writing this article and for anyone who is a parent, toxic chemicals are a concern. We place all ours outside in the shed and up high so they are out of the reach of little hands. But if you are not a parent then you too should give a thought about the toxics used in your house. This is for you, your pets and for the people you invite to come around to your house.
7. Must have a long history (i.e. 30 YEARS) of customer satisfaction.
If the business or product has been around for a long period time then you can feel assured that the product may be good. The logic behind this statement is that with all the securities commissions around the world and the strong internet anti-fraud measures, a business will have to be legitimate to stay around for any long period of time. If they were not legitimate then they would only be around for a short time before getting shut down. Scams come and go but a good business or product is around for the long term, that you can TRUST!
8. Size.
How much are you getting in one bottle? You want the bottle to last a while before you have to order a new one.
9. Unbeatable value, including FREE bonuses, with out any drop in quality.
What I am about to say may be common knowledge to some people, but the problem with 'common knowledge' is that it is not common. Once you have found your pet stain cleaner that seems to be a high quality product. You MUST ask "WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME!" If you purchase this product, what else are you going to get? By doing this you will always get more value for your dollar.
There is a skill to this as well, since you need to look for the not so obvious. Most people look for the little free gimmicks like a free carpet cleaner included or a free black light to find stains (you will need the right UV frequency for it to work). But what I am talking about are extras that work for you. Are you receiving bonuses that you can sell? Might you get the opportunity to join the businesses affiliate program after the purchase and make money off the product you tested (used). Is that business going to work for you long term?, long after the purchase of their product. An example of this is found at .bestcaturinecleaner.com/go/urinecleaning/famecare
So if you are thinking of purchasing a Cat Urine Cleaning product remember to keep these 9 criteria in mind as you will reach the best solution faster. They are valid points in which pet owners must consider and for anyone spending money it is important to ask if that money will return.

How To Have A Happy Cat [07 Jul 2008|08:11am]
How To Have A Happy Cat
 by: Ken Charnely
Do you like to learn about new and interesting things? If so, this article will be right up your alley! A healthy animal makes for a happy pet. If you are a cat owner and you want to make your pet happy, you need to make sure that your cat is groomed properly, fed on time and is given enough love and attention.
Here are some tips on how you can have a healthy and happy cat:
1. Take care of your cat's health.
As a pet owner, it is your responsibility to make sure that your cat is healthy and free from diseases that may even be transmitted to humans.
Visit the veterinarian if you notice that your cat has become lethargic or less active than usual.
If you see them 'shedding' excessively or has something unusual on their coat, immediately consult a professional.
Your cat might have a skin disease, or this could be a symptom of a sickness that you do not know about.
2. Groom your cat properly.
Cats are in the habit of grooming themselves. You will often see them using their tongue to clean their coat.
In spite of this, you should still do your part in grooming your cat if you want to keep them really clean.
Brush your cat's fur regularly. There are several short-haired cats that need minimal brushing. For this, you can use a comb with soft bristles.
There are also cat breeds which have long, silky furs and this variety needs a much longer grooming time.
Use a wide-toothed comb initially then brush up with a fine toothed one afterwards. You can also use talcum powder in order to separate the hair strands.
Make sure that you brush with gentle strokes so that their skin will not be hurt or scratched.
Cats are also not that fond of taking a bath. But there are times when your cat would need bathing.
This is when they have accumulated a lot of dirt on the skin and coat. Bathing will help eliminate ticks and lice.
Also, there might be substances that could cling on the fur which can be poisonous and it is important for them to bathe.
When bathing your pet, use a shampoo that is specially made for cats. Prepare the following before bathing:
-a small tub or sink
-slip-proof mat
-water spray attachment
-clean, dry towels
Adjust the water temperature, then place your cat in the small tub or sink before filling it up with water. It is better to attach a sprayer in the faucet rather than pouring water directly onto its body. Apply a liberal amount of shampoo on the cat's body, and try to avoid the face, especially the eyes and ears.
After rinsing, towel them dry and comb the coat. Bathing time should build trust and create some quality time between you and your pet cat.
This should prevent your cat from making much of a fuss the next time it needs a bath.
Another part of grooming is keeping the eyes, teeth and ears clean. Also remember to keep the paws clean and the nails trimmed.
Go to a pet store and you are sure to find products specially made to clean these parts. You can also look for a nail trimmer specifically designed to use on your pet cat.
Ask a professional groomer or a veterinarian so that you can learn how to properly clean your cat's eyes, ears, teeth and nails.
3. Feed them on time.
Another aspect of keeping your cat happy and healthy is by feeding them well and on time.
Your feline friends can learn how to "stick" to a schedule with your guidance and training.
Make time in your busy day to feed them. You can learn which variety of cat food they prefer by serving different brands and variants.
Along with cat food, you should give them plenty of clean water to drink.
If you have a lot of pet cats, give them individual feeding plates.
If there is just one dish, other cats might not be fed well because dominant felines will take the most part of the food that you serve.
4. Shower them with love and attention.
By giving your cats your undivided attention while grooming and feeding them, you are already showering them with love and attention. In addition to this, make their play time a lot more fun by appreciating the things that they do.By following these tips, you are sure to have a healthy cat and be a contented owner. When we learn, we continue on a path of growth. Therefore, learning about this subject has already helped you more than you know.

Leftover Thanksgiving Turkey Ideas [21 Jun 2008|10:07am]

The next day after Thanksgiving is marked by the appearance of a seemingly endless stream of turkey sandwiches. It is, in its own way, part of the American Thanksgiving tradition. But is slapping a few slabs of white and dark on wheat with a smear of Mayo the only thing to do with leftovers from the big meal? Of course not! There are endless possibilities to explore with the remains of the bird.

Tradition aside, what is turkey but fowl? That means that any dish that could contain chicken is a decent fit for turkey. Soups, salads, pastas and casseroles area all contenders. Even a turkey omelet can find its way into your post Thanksgiving turkey recipes.

South of the border flavors aren't out of bounds either. A turkey enchilada or burrito is a unique yet tasty option, as is a turkey quesadilla (use dark meat for the latter so the flavor is strong enough to hold its own with the cheese). A turkey-based chili is a delight, and a nice belly warmer on a chilly November evening.

Instead of a turkey sandwich, try a turkey-salad sandwich. This is a great option for the last few scraps of the bird since you want small pieces here anyway.

Of course, none of these options are possible if you don't have properly stored leftover in the 1st place. It's not simply a matter of having enough Tupperware and refrigerator shelf-space, either. Most folks are sick enough from overeating on Thanksgiving without the added burden of past-its-prime meat.

When poultry turns, it turns fast and hard. For safety purposes the turkey should be into the refrigerator no more than 2 hours after it came out of the oven. However, if the turkey is stored correctly it should be safe to eat for nearly a week. To be on the extra-safe side, any meat that will not be eaten in 3 days should be frozen for longer storage. Any frozen leftovers should be thawed and eaten within one month of freezing, not so much for safety's sake, but because it won't taste as good.

How To Prepare Your Culinary Masterpiece [11 Jun 2008|04:07pm]

First thing is first. So you want a culinary masterpiece? Be careful and to follow these instructions to become great.

Prepare Your Food Lists

Do you have any ingredients in supply? Do you have enough for your recipe? Are the ingredients still fresh or have they spoiled? List what you're missing and how much you need. If you're just cooking for one or two, don't get the family packages of perishables unless you can freeze the extra and use it up before it gets freezer burn. Most dry spices keep quite a while, but can lose potency if stored in warm, damp areas.

Check the grocery ads

See what's on sale. There's no sense in paying more than you have to. Consider how many people you're cooking for and how much refrigerator and freezer space you have. Nothing is a bargain if you can't store it long enough to cook and eat it. A large roast, for example, can be chopped into meal-sized pieces and frozen, or you can cook the whole thing, eat what you want, and save the rest for sandwiches, stews, casseroles, and snacks--if you have the refrigerator or freezer space to store it.

Using coupons: Coupons can save you money or cost you.
If the coupon is for something you would have bought anyway, it's worth using. If it's just a different brand, the coupon makes it cheaper than your regular brand, and you can't taste the distinction, use it. If the only reason you're buying the product is to use the coupon, forget it! If it's something new that you'd like to try, and you don't have to buy a large quantity, look at the price and decide if it's worth the money to you. Go ahead and treat yourself occasionally. Little treats make it easier to stick to a healthy routine the rest of the time.

How much should you buy?

Most supermarkets have the prices marked on the shelves, and show a unit price on the ticket. Sometimes the larger package costs less per pound, or ounce, or whatever unit is used. Sometimes the smaller package is in fact the better buy. Small calculators are so inexpensive nowadays that getting one to take shopping with you can save you money, especially when one brand, for example, lists the price per pound and another shows the per ounce price.

With foods that have to be frozen or chilled, or fresh fruits and vegetables that spoil quickly (known as "perishables") only buy as much as you can use before they perish. The fresher it is, the better the flavor and nutrition, so, even though you can keep a lot of stuff in the freezer for long periods, it's better not to keep it for more than a few weeks. (Keep track of what's in the freezer--date everything as it goes in--so that nothing gets buried in the back or bottom for years at a time.)

It's real easy to overbuy when things are on sale. Then you risk either having to eat so much of it that you can't stand the thought of it for a long time afterward, or being forced to throw out some of it when it spoils.

Are national brands worth the price? Are house or generic brands just as good as the national brands?

All of the major chain supermarkets have house brands or plainly packaged generic products. Some chains have both. Check out your local chains, try the house products, and decide for yourself when (or if) you want to spend a little more for the national brand. If you really prefer a national brand, especially in non-perishables, watch the ads, and when it goes on sale, stock up. Many of the house brands are made by the same companies that make the national brands. The only difference is that the supermarket chain buys in quantity, and the manufacturer has no advertising expense.

Staple supplies that every kitchen needs.
All-purpose flour, cornstarch (for thickening gravy), assorted noodles and pasta, rice, oils (vegetable, olive, peanut), vinegar (white wine, red wine, apple cider, plain distilled), canned soups (beef broth, chicken broth, tomato, cream of mushroom), assorted spices and flavorings (dried minced onion, oregano for Italian dishes, salt, pepper, any others you like.)Buy small quantities on new items and taste test before stocking up.

Other good things to keep on hand.
Canned meats and vegetables, mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, favorite salad dressings, horseradish sauce, ready-to-eat cereal, quick cooking oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, Cream of Rice, grits, gravy mixes, drink mixes, any other favorite foods.

With these basic pointers you should be well on your way to having a well stocked kitchen and great cooking experience.

unforgettable dreams [09 Mar 2008|10:48pm]

[ mood | pensive ]

Hey everyone! I'm rather new to LJ, and this community caught my interest. Dreams are some of the most fascinating things out there.

I've been dreaming a lot. Well, I suppose technically you dream every night, but I've been remember my dreams with unusual clarity lately. Honestly, I couldn't be more thrilled. Even when my dreams aren't pleasant, once I've woken up I'm glad I had them.

This post is actually to discuss two dreams that I had a long time ago, but which were and still are very special to me. Both are very simple, but, to me, unforgettable and rather stirring.

The first dream was about five years ago. I was floating in a dark space. All around me was mist, but it couldn't be seen; you could feel it, hear it, and just sense it swirling around you, but it was too black to see. There was music in the background - loud, pulsing, hip/hop dance type music. Then the sound began to fade away. Soon it was silent. In the distance, a figure and a voice arose, becoming clearer with time. The voice remained soft, and the figure distant, but both were unmistakeably and undeniable gorgeous. The voice, though quiet, was strong and resonant. No human could produce such a sound; it was unlike anything I'd ever heard.

What was the voice I heard in my dream? All I know is that when I woke, I could remember neither the tune nor the words it sang, but only that perfect, unmatchable tone. I've never heard the voice since.

The second dream I had in the fall of last year. This dream stands out to me not only for its content but because it marked a turning point in my "dreaming state." I've never been prone to doing bizarre things in my sleep - occasionally I mumble (so I'm told), but there's never been evidence of anything more. After this particular dream,  however, I've started taking physical action in conjunction with and in response to my dreams.

I was in a huge arena, high up in the stands. Below was an empty stage, and all around me were countless rows of empty seats. I stood at the top of a staircase, looking down on the stage, and I saw a man. I know who this man is, though he and I are not familiar, and for various reasons I would like to keep this name private. He jogged up the stairs towards me, reaching out....

At this point, I shot upright in bed, right arm thrown forward, heart pounding. Since, I've done everything in my sleep from walking across the room to the dresser, throwing pillows at the wall, taking out my retainer, getting out books, and even removing articles of clothing and throwing it across the room (what's with the throwing things.) I remember none of it. I only find evidence when I wake up.

Isn't sleep a crazy thing?

Dreams and the supernatural [22 Jun 2006|05:39pm]

Have you ever made love to an invisible man

Have you ever had a dream that changed your life? This woman I´m going to tell you about has.

There was this woman who had a dream about a man she didn´t know. It was a very HOT dream...

She is standing in front of a mirror looking at herself, only..it doesn´t really look like her oldself - the woman in the mirror is very hot and sexy and beautiful. As she is standing there she feels the presence of a man whom she has seen earlier in the dream, and with whom she has a secret relationship. She doesn´t really SEE the man, she only feels his presence.. he´s standing behind her, she can feel his breath on her neck and chills all over - you can almost feel the heat in the air.. woah..!

Then he touches her, just a light touch, but her heart is already in a spin and all she wants to do now is kiss him. Then she wakes up and wondering "What on earth was THAT?"

A few weeks later he visits her again - only this time she is awake! It´s three o´clock in the morning when she wakes up and feels his presence in the room. It´s the same hot feeling as in the dream, and when he lays down beside her she protests at first - she is married, got kids.. he doesn´t listen. Then he touches her again - the same light touch as in the dream - and she is flying on the wings of love... he kisses her and she has never felt anything like it before..so much love ! She feels soo loved and so beautiful.

Now you could say it was another dream, she wasn´t really awake.. yeah, ok, if it only happened ONCE you could explain it like that. But that´s not the end of the story...you see he kept coming back!

It is always the same thing: she wakes up and feels his presence in the room, it´s always beetween two and three in the morning, and some times twice in the same night, and it´s always just as beautiful. Now she begins to expect him to come. She´s getting ready for him in the evening waiting... she is hopelessly in love with a man that doesn´t exist ...or ...does he?? She gives him a name known only by the two of them. And she is beginning to change..

She, who has always been a collector of everything, not being able to throw anything away, starts to clean up and throw away things. She, who hasn´t bought any clothes for many years, starts to buy things for herself... sexy things, daring things..And she looses weight - 6 kilos in a couple of months! Her family starts to notice the change and her children says "You are different, mommy. You are always so happy - what has happened?" She smiles, but how do you explain an experience like that?? "I´m making love to an invisible man, and I´m so in love with him".. you can´t say that, people will think that you are crazy... well folks, what do you think - is she?

This is a true story.

The Dreamsbox & Sinsbox Projects | share dreams and sins [07 Feb 2006|09:46pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

Hey all,

I was on blinklist and saw the following article about dreamsbox.com and sinsbox.com. Since its revelant to this community, I thought I would share it:

"2 documentation projects emerged this month to spearhead a new push in the Web 2.0 era for simplicity. The Dreamsbox (http://www.dreamsbox.com) Project seeks to document the world's dreams, allowing for anonymous posting of dreams along with the creations of free personal dream diaries. The Sinsbox Project (http://www.sinsbox.com) seeks to document sins and secrets, allowing for anonymous confessions and submissions of expressional art. Both projects allow for a unique rating system..."

Both projects are actually pretty addictive and fun. I love the fact that they're simple to use but their design kinda suck and sinsbox.comis a bit too dark and scandalous for me but nonetheless i'm addicted. As it turns out the guy who started the 2 projects went to school with me back in the days! Now I guess he's an internet junkie. haha! Anyways, please spread words about these 2 projects to friends and family if you can through word of mouth or through your own postings. In general, I just think that these two projects are very decent in terms of what they're trying to do. Read the "about" page to learn how cool these people are.

Apartment Problems [13 Jan 2006|10:04am]

[ mood | content ]

I had a weird dream last night...

I dreampt that I was in the apartment, in the back part of the room when I noticed that water was pouring heavily from the ceiling. It was falling to the carpet and making the paint bubble out as water that found it's way into little crevases inthe paint would get underneathe the paint and peal it away from the walls. (Don't laugh...This happened in our laundry room once when the hoses weren't hooked up right...The paint literally ballooned out away from the wall...Scarey sight, really, but I guess that's what latext paint does...), and suddenly as I was getting ready to callt he management, the walls starting collapsing, like a heavy weight had been placed on them and they couldn't hold anymore.

I grabbed my chinchilla and ran into the kitchen and found that parts of it were on fire, so I ran out fo the apartment, confused as to what happened and what to do.

By the time I got outside, there were already police, the fire department and other city workers there trying to resolev the problem. The left side of the fourth floor had completely fallen into the apartment below it, setting off a domino effect all the way to my apartment. I found the building manager and he said that the tenants had been using the apartment as a car storage area for stole cars that they would sell at a later date. They were trying to put the 30th car in there when the floor finally gave out. (On a side note, I mention the numbers of things because my dreams have been very specific about numbers recently, which I find odd. These little details usually aren't so prevalent in my dreams and I'm wondering why suddenly now, numbers have become so important...) The building manager was upset because he had strictly told all the tenants that nothing was to be stored in the apartments. That they were meant for habitation only, then he walked off.

I went back inside my place and took a look once more at the damage done to my apartment. The entire back half was fairly destroyed. The rooms were still intact, but they were not secure enough to live in and even as I was looking I realized the plaec was not very likely secure enough for me to even be in there looking around. One of the workers who was surveying the damage pointed out where the cross beams in the ceiling ahd given out and where support beams were heavily compromised. He said at that time that I would have to move because the building would need to be torn down and rebuilt.

I went back to the kitchen, and I found myself at my mom's house. It was night, and in the morning, we were having a large neighborhood get-together for those who had lost their homes from the events in the apartment building. Someone had passed away as well, so we were holding a memorial as well. I decided that I would start making the breakfast, since I was up, I was there and there was nothing else to do.

I started making poached eggs, and french fries. I made the french fries int he microwave and everytime I'd pull them out to place on another dish, they'd catch on fire and I'd have to grab the baking soda and put out the fire, since the fries were super greasy. Two of the people (one of the girls I work with and her brother) came home from a costume party. It was around 1 am or so, and I thought they were coming home fairly late. She was dressed as a fairy princess and he was dressed ina tuxedo. They pulled their large white pick-up truck into the back yard and came inside. I offered them some of the breakfast, appologizing that it wasn't much, but there'd be more come morning.

They ate a bit and before too long, it was morning. As the people came, many of them brought dishes for the breakfast, and a few of the local companies brought in food, supplies and things to help out. It was a larger crowd than expected, since many of them had come for the funeral and memorial after.

My mom introduced me to an elderly black woman who was very nice, and I thought it was odd as I had never seen her before, but my mom acted like she had known her forever. She looked very frail, so I didn't want her to have to fight the crowd of people to get her breakfast, so I offered to get it for her. She smiled and said that she wasn't hungry, but would like a drink. So I asked her what she'd like, and she gave me this recipe:

Soda Water
Sweetner/Sweet & Low

She made sure to let me know that I had to stir it very slowly and that she would know if I hadn't because the items won't mix as well together if they are stirred fast. I nodded, wondering what in the world sweetgrass was and was fairly certain we didn't have any. as I was walking away, she came up and said, "If you can't find any sweetgrass, Cream of Wheat will do just fine!" I nodded and looked down and discovered, I was standing right by a box on the table filled with Cream of Wheat packets, so I grabbed one, pointed to it to show her. She smiled and nodded and I went inside.

I stood at the kitchen counter, perplexed because I had no idea what sweetgrass looked like. My mom came in and I asked her if she had any. She nodded and got some out of this tall bottle she had on the counter. They looked like calcium pills, but she plunked them into the soda water she had already poured. I found the sweetner and wasn't sure if she'd like Sweet & Low or Equal, but figured since she specifically said, "Sweetner" which means, at least in California, Sweet & Low, I put that in there. And for some reason, I added the Cream of Wheat too, even though I had the sweetgrass, and stirred as slowly as I could as I took it back out to her. I thought the liquid woul dbe clear, but it ended up becoming this brown oatmeal type substance and I suddenly understood why she had said she would know if it had been stirred slow enough.

I woke up after a while. I don't remember much else after that. Only a story about a person who had met Santa Clause and was magically forced to relive that moment over and over again as time passed, even though he was not aware that he was.

Odd dreams...

The million story building.. [06 Jan 2006|10:02am]

[ mood | confused ]

I had a strange dream last night...

I drempt I had snuck my way into a million story building, though it only had 100 floors. You were only allowed to be inthe building by invite, but for some reason, I had decided to go in anyways, so the owner of the building, a rather old and affluent old woman, sent her security guards to come and find me.

So I took the elevator up to the 65th floor. The first 10 floors of the building were hotel style rooms, but above those, all the rooms were huge, like the size of homes, and each floor had 4-5 rooms on it with a space int he center as you got out of the elevator that had something to do, or place to eat. The 65th floor had a large health spa/swimming pool in the center. The homes on that floor were decorated in odd shades of teal, green, yellow and blue, but it all worked well together. I ran through one home, startling a group of women drinking tea and socializing. I appologized as I ran through.

I was debating which floors would be better for me to hide in. At first, I thought the higher floors might be the way to go, but as I was thinking about it, I realized that the 30th floors were rather empty and no one used them, so that might be the better place to go. Having no idea what the security guards might suspect, I decided to stick to the stairs instead of using the elevators.

I went to the 64th floor, which was an assisted living home for the elderly, and by the elevator was a beauty parlor. On the 63th floor was the "college dorm" area, where the rooms were much smaller, and there were alot more of them and by the elevator, there was a huge bar, complete with music and dancing and all sorts of wild partying going on. It was on this floor that the building owner's daughter lived. I found her in a small pink room, super drunk. She said that she'd help me out, but passed out immediately after saying that.

On the 62nd floor, it was done much differently. This floor looked like a street, complete with moving cars. There was an old greasy spoon diner and a pet shop. I went to the pet shop and bought some fish food for my fish, because I suddenly realized I needed some, and since I was there...So I bought the food then left the store to see a man and a woman outside the diner having an arguement. Then a car came up and stopped mext to them and the woman got into the car and it drove off. I'm not sure where to though, since it was all inside the building, but it all made sense in my dream.

I was headed down the stairs to the 61st floor when the security guards caught up with me. I was angry that they had managed to find me, and one of them came down the stairs, but passed me up while the other came up to me and tried to grab me. I was able to quickly get out of his way, and he ran into the metal bars of the stair railing. I ran up to him and started hitting him with my fist, but my sweatshirt kept getting in the way, significantly reducing the impact of the hit. I got angry and pushed the sleeve way up, then continued to beat the guy near senseless, but amazingly enough, not bloody. I tell him I don't want to hurt him but I don't want him to bother me any more.

This was about the point I woke up. My husband had been snoring throughout the dream and I could hear him in my dream in parts, and I guess it got to be too loud, or I didn't want to deal with the dream any more or something.

I doubt it holds any real meaning..Just an interesting dream...

Ok....weird dream....

It was at night and I was in my front yard with my two friends. For some strange reason these figures in grey hooded cloaks flew over our heads. I could sense the fear from my friends and got this huge surge of energy and power, it almost felt like I had grown or something. I leaped into the air and lashed out at one of the phantoms. It swerved and I missed and then landed in a tree. When I looked down my friends weren't there. I started thinking that left because they were afraid of me.

The next scene I was in was where I was dancing around a red circle with a crimson hooded cape on. There was a man standing next to me, doing the same dance. I felt very strange toward him, like I deeply loved him and new him for quite a long time, even though I really didn't. Suddenly I was screaming in my head, 'This is not God like! This is not apart of your religion! You must stop, NOW!' But I didn't. I like the feeling I was having. What I was doing mad me extremely happy. Like, pure bliss.

Even though the dream seemed dark and a little disturbing to me, I woke up with a smile on my face. I could not remember a better dream.

Oh and also (this has nothing to do with my dream) for about a week I have been getting these extremely detailed dreams that happen in real life. Almost 5-6 times a day I get a déjà vu.

Does that seem abnormale? :/

I've had a dream which has reoccurred ever since I was quite young:

I'm in a tall building and it suddenly collapses. I get out of the rubble and look around me and the city Im in is deserted. The sky is an orange colour and all the buildings and surroundings are grey.
I suddenly realise that something is following me, and I'm terrified. I can't tell what it, its showded in a shadow which covers it everywhere it goes. The thing is chasing me, and I run into an empty parking building. Always I see the thing behind me when I turn around.
I run to the very top of the parking building and start to run across a plank which goes from the building to the top of a hill.
The hill is in a suburb. I turn and go up a walkway. There are some rotted strawberries growing on the sides of the walkway. I grab some of them and leave the walkway, heading towards a house.
In the middle of the road is a white Scottish terrier and I start to chase it to pick it up. I can never reach it and it runs away.
I reach the house. Its two-storied and has a few narrow slits for windows, although all of these are blackened out.
I feel as if I've been searching for the person in this house. I enter the kitchen, and the man, dressed in clothes which are covered in patches. The kitchen is cluttered with rubbish and broken kitchen appliances.
The man takes the strawberries from me, puts them on skewers, wraps them in tinfoil and puts them in the microwave. We eat them when theyre cooked and they taste sweet.
I want to ask the man some questions but I'm afraid of his answers and he makes it so that I cant ask him.
The dog then appears at the kitchen door and the dream ends.

Anyone brave enough to decipher it?:P

Ok first off, I'm known for my strange dreams. My friends make me tell them my dreams everyday for a laugh. So if it seems odd in any way, forgive me :)

Ok.. I was in a car with my friend and a man. I don't know him personally but in the dream I did, so I must have seen him somewhere. Anyways, We were driving around on the beach I live next to and there was a thing on the floor in front of the man. It was fuzzy and black. He picked it up and threw it out the window. When we were driving away, we looked bck and saw it start to grow. The faster and farther we went, the bigger and faster it became. It chased us all around the town, and me and my friend jumped from the car. The fuzzy thing kept chasing the car and finally caught and ate it, completely oblivious to the fact that my friend and I were still there. We snuck back to my house and watched it proceed to the next town, terrorizing and eating everything it saw. Weird huh?

Physical description of the Fuzzies:
Black and light gray fur, big bulging blue eyes and claw like fingers and toes.

Don't Freak Out [17 Oct 2005|08:57pm]

[ mood | curious ]

Hi, I'm new. Well, I had this really weird dream. Please don't freak out on me. :)

It was in the summer and I was standing in my backyard on my porch. All of a sudden my surroundings started to melt and turn into this huge tundra. Where my neighbor's house where suppose to be there was a very large forest. And then these black and gray blurs came out of nowhere and ran towards the forest. The blurs were wolves. I had the strongest urge to run with them. So, I did. And then I heard blood curdling screams, coming from my family. "Nicole, come back!" It was like they were in agonizing pain. I kept on running with the wolves until we came to the forest. And then My dream ended.

Dreams are answers to questions we haven't yet figured out how to ask. [26 Aug 2005|06:34pm]

[ mood | full ]

I have always been fascinated by dreams. My brother was the first one to start having weird dreams, than i started having them. So many of those dreams came true. In a lot of those dreams i met people and talked to them, even though i have never seen them before. And then i would end up meeting them in real life. First it was kind of weird but i got used to it, later on anyways. A lot of times me and my brother would have the same dreams. Sometimes i would see parts of the dream that he didn't and vice versa. When that happened we would fill each other on the stuff that we missed. It was so neat. It was like another world that we could be in, and after some time i learned how to control my dreams. When i did i could go in different places in my dreams and find out stuff that i needed to know. It was so cool. I love dreams. They are so mysterious.

What is going on inside my head?! [15 Aug 2005|10:43pm]

[ mood | contemplative ]

I had the weirdest dream!

This dream was so weird that I'm sure you'll think I'm a nut case if you read this. I don't even know where to begin! I don't remember it all, and most of it is really fuzzy but I will try to recollect it as best as I can. A lot of events happened before the first part of the dream. I know it's there but I can't seem to grasp what it is! Anyway, here is what I recall:

I was sitting in a room (it could have been a classroom) with all my former boarding school friends. Everybody was either talking or writing something. I was sitting by a table, talking with my good friend Line. Line and I knew that a bomb was about to go off in that same room, and we were discussing weather we should leave or not. Finally, when there was about a minute left before it would go off, we decided to alert everybody and leave. We shouted it out but nobody would listen. I remember seeing my ex-boyfriend looking at me in a strange way. He was the only one who really recognized me, and he just said no. Line and I were just out of the room when the boom went off and the force of it threw us back. The next thing I remember is walking in to the room again. Everything is black, but I can still see everybody. In fact they are frozen to the spot where they were when the bomb went off, but they are all pitch black. A horrified dread fills me as I ventured in to the room and suddenly I slip in what I think was blood and lunches of human flesh. As I land on the floor, an emotionally wreck, everybody suddenly comes back to life and begin to laugh at me. They laughed and laughed and I just remember feeling stupid and angry at them for playing such a grotesque prank on me. Then the scene ended and a lot of things happened next that I don't remember.

The next thing I recall is being outside on a hill of a sort. I think there was snow, but I'm not sure. I was either being chased or chasing someone. We were about 4 or 5 people on the hillside, and I don't remember if the others were my friends or enemies, but suddenly I feel a great pain somewhere in my body and I crash to the grown screaming. The other people rush towards me to see what's wrong, but they can't do anything. I just keep screaming. Then the scene ends, and as before a lot of things happens after this that I can't bring to mind.

Next thing I remember is being beaten by a woman. My face is swollen and my leg hurts where the woman is currently kicking me. I recall asking her if she could perhaps kick me on the other side, because it hurts too much, and she does as I say. After a while she leaves and I go to the toilet to examine the damage. As I look in the mirror I see myself, but I don't look exactly as I do in real life. It is me, but I have the resemblance of someone else. My face is swollen and I have quite a lot of freckles, which I don't have in real life. Just before the scene ends again, I remember thinking softly that I look a bit like Ginny Weasly from the Harry Potter series.

Then a lot of things happen again that I just can't seem to grasp. I think there was some chasing again.

Anyway, the next thing I remember is walking down a street with my two good friends Lea and Signe. We are supposed to keep going but then we reach an entrance to a place where a singing competition is being held and my friends force me to enter. I am very much against it, and really don't want to enter. Everybody else is really good and has been rehearsing for weeks, while I don't even have a song to sing. But there is no way out of it and as Signe and Lea finds comfortable seats in the stands, I go back stage to somehow try and prepare myself. Back stage is flooded with people and I ask someone if there are some books with songs somewhere. The person leads me to a lot of books and I happily thank the person for the help. However, the books turn out to be unreadable and suddenly it's my turn to go on stage. All eyes are on me as I nervously reach the piano. I have no other choice than to play/sing one of my own songs. This is rather easier said than done as my voice is failing me and the piano is a wreck, but I do my best. The noise from the audience is gradually getting louder though and suddenly something weird happens. I open my eyes (in my dream) and realizes that I'm not playing … that I haven't played at all since I got on stage. I had just been sitting there with my eyes closed, doing nothing. I had been dreaming in my dream that I was playing – You still with me? Good. The noise in the room is now very loud and the speaker suddenly comes on stage and tries to make the crowd settle down. I'm still very confused but then anger wells up in me and I yell: “MY GIFT IS MY SONG!” Then I leave.

-And the next thing I know is my brother waking me up to ask me if I fed the cat.

Is that weird or what!?

If anyone has an idea of what this means, I'd be happy to hear it!

I'm new [10 Aug 2005|10:25pm]

[ mood | blank ]

Hello my name is Libby and I'm 15 years old. I seem to have very vivid dreams in clusters. I will remember dreams every night for a month or so then suddenly for a few months I will sleep through them so I can't remember anything. I have alot of dreams that come true. For example last year I had a dream I was changing behind a heavy curtain and I was against a cold wall. I was talking to this girl about how we had to hurry up or we would miss the bus. A few months later when I went on a band trip one of my room mates was that same girl. We were in the hotel trying to get ready to go to see the blue man group. Our other two room mates had already gotten on the bus. I started to change behind the heavy curtain and I was against a cold wall. We were even talking about the same exact stuff as before. It was really surreal.
